*mini clothes pins that I have had in my crafting stash forever*

I spent the weekend back home in Sierra Vista.

It was AMAZING.

I went to Calvary Chapel Sierra Vista's annual Womens retreat.

This was my 7th retreat and I think I can honestly say that out of all 7, this one blessed my heart the most.

Ive been going through a real season of loneliness since I moved to Tucson.

My BIGGEST struggle with loneliness has been with church.

I have an incredible LACK of fellowship and its starting to take its toll on me emotionally,

and more importantly, its starting to affect my walk with Jesus...and that scares me.

A lot.

This weekend I was able to step outside of my self, and look in at my current circumstances.

I didnt like what I saw happening.

Its been slow going but over the past 4 months I have been slowly backsliding.

Slowly losing interest in the things that I love.

Slowly losing interest in following the Lord and living for Him.

I have been feeling very discouraged, and down.

And lonely. SO lonely.

I have been trying to live day to day in my own strength instead of relying on God to see me through.

Ive had zero daily quiet time.

I never get in the Word unless Im in church....

and most of the time I dont even want to GO to church.

Ive been trying to do my crafts, and to blog, and to get back into photography, thinking that these things will bring me fulfillment.

And they do bring me joy in the moment, but here's a shocker:

without Jesus guiding my decisions, and my steps, THEY DO NOT FULFILL ME!

Duh!!!!

I know what I know.

And what I know is that Jesus, and Jesus ALONE is the only thing that will TRULY fulfill me.

I know it in my head...now to get the rest of me to listen!

I know that right now I am in a dangerous position for the enemy of my soul to sneak in and steal, kill and destroy.

So to that I say 'Get thee behind me satan!'

You are not welcome here!!!!!

Rag Rug #2

I had this awesome jersey fabric that I got at walmart 2 years ago.

It was on sale $1 a yard.

I dont remember how many yards this was

but its safe to say that it was between 3 & 6...helpful, I know ;)

I really liked working with the jersey fabric as opposed to the sheet.

It was much softer and it made the finished rug alot cushier!

Once I got all the fabric cut it took me about 2 hours to make the actual rug.

My dog has claimed it as her own already!

Love making these things!

Super fun!

Rag Rug Goodness

Pinterest is my BFF when it comes to all things creative!

I saw an image of a rag rug.

I had never seen such a thing, and was immediately eager to make one!

I knew the exact sheets I was going to use for my fabric right away.

So, I just jumped right in!

My rug is *a little* crooked here and there, but for a first attempt,

I'm awfully proud of it!

I told the boss that there is a very real possibility

I may tear up every sheet in the house to make these rugs =)

New obsession?

I think YES!

This ball of fabric strips is the result of one full size flat sheet.

And this process of ripping the fabric is a little time consuming because ALL of that string {on the right of the scissors} sheds off the strips and you have to pull it off otherwise your strips get tangled and that is no bueno!

One full size flat sheet made me a rag rug that measures about 16 in. by 26 in.

Perfect size for a bath mat =)

The next one I attempt will be a circle, or an oval.

I am SOOOO pleased with how easy this was to make! I started ripping my sheet last night and I was done making the rug before lunch today! I cant wait to make another =)

Bountiful Baskets

Some ladies at my church back home have been going on about this co~op called Bountiful Baskets.

Basically, you sign up, you pay $15 for a basket and you go pick it up on Saturday morning.

You get TONS of fruits and veggies!

Today was my very first Bountiful Baskets experience and I must say, I am pleasantly surprised!

They try to do as much locally grown produce as possible.

I have a whole countertop full of fruits and veggies that would have cost me well over $50

if I would have bought them at the market.

The contents of todays baskets were:

*Corn
*Cauliflower
*Celery
*Spinach
*Romaine {I think!}
*Potatoes
*Bananas
*Grapes
*pears
*Plums
*Nectarines
*Mango

I also opted to add on the Mexican pack {$8.50} that came with lots of deliciousness too!

*Avocado
*Green Tomatoes
*Jalapeno {sp}
*Green Chilies
*Hatch Chilis

I am so happy!

I cant wait to get in the kitchen and start creating some delicious HEALTHY food!

I highly recommend trying this out.

There is no obligation so if you do it once and hate it,

you dont have to do it ever again.

But if you love it, you can just do it everytime...which I will be doing =)

Mums the Word

I love MUMS.

They are such a fun happy flower,

and having them in my home really just brightens up my days!

Yesterday I was sitting on the couch and noticed how the sun was streaming in through the window and illuminating this sweet, single Mum on my coffee table.

So naturally, I pulled out the camera.

The light was so bright and beautiful.

All I did to these images was sharpen a bit.

Loving the way these turned out!

I love photographing Still Life.

At this point in my life, I would so much rather photograph stuff than people!

It brings me joy!

So, ever since I moved to Tucson I have turned into a thrifting maniac!

Not just thrifting, but antiquing too!

I have been on the search for new dishes for my kitchen.

I have been in need of dishes for everyday use.

Well, the other day, I was in an antique store,

and I happened to stumble upon a dish set, that was only $45...

BUT it was 50% off so it was only $22.50!

AND, it had 61 pieces!

AND, its stoneware so its durable for everyday use!

SCORE!

I immediately fell in LOVE with the sweet pattern!

Its clearly missing pieces, but here is what I got:

* 13 Lg. Plates

* 14 Sm. Plates

* 15 Bowls

* 8 Saucers

* 5 Tea Cups

* 2 Lg. Serving Plates

* 2 Lg. Serving Bowls

* 1 Cream Pitcher

* 1 Sugar Dish

Since there are 15 bowls I am assuming it serves 15.

And if thats true then I am missing 20 pieces total.

It is a Stoneware China Pattern: Endura by Wellin- #527 Brocade

I have googled because I would love to know a manufacturer year,

but there is NOTHING on this particular pattern...

can anyone help??

I have looked on the china replacement site but no one has registered

this pattern so there is no info there.

Does anyone know of any of way of finding out what year this pattern was manufactured?

I'm sending out an SOS!!

Soooooooooo....

I have been SO absent around here!

Its like a ghost town!

I just saw a tumbleweed blow through!

I decided this morning that I need a kick to get back into the blogging fun.

What better way to motivate myself?

Why, a new blog design of course!

I like that its quite simple and yet, still colorful!

There are alot of colors in my world so this new design is really working for me!

Last time I posted I showed you my new love...painting.

The Singing Woman, I painted for my baby sister Ciera who's only dream in life is to get discovered!

Biffles, I painted for my very best friend on the face of the earth, Lacey!

Her birthday just passed and this is my gift to her. I still need to mail it! And I hope she loves it!

I've had a tickle in my gut to get into my crafting supplies.

Most of my craft stuff is still packed away, so I looked at what was easily accessible, and decided that I just NEEDED to create today!

Here's what happened:

I was, at first, very unhappy that the paint leaked under my letters.

I sat there and stared at the canvas, trying to figure out what I could do to them to make it look cleaner.

I decided I would leave it.

I actually think it gives it character!

Now, the hard part is deciding where to hang this in my house!!

I have just really let my blog fall by the wayside!

This has proven to be a very eventful summer for us Clarks!

We MOVED!!!

Thats right boys and girls.

On June 25th, we uprooted ourselves from our 23 year hometown and moved our butts up to Tucson.

Its only an our away from where I have lived for 3/4ths of my life but it is COMPLETELY different here in Tucson.

The biggest difference?

THE.BUGS.

No joke!

We're talking sun spider sightings and very large ants! That fly!

And, its really hot up here. Like 10 degrees hotter than where I came from.

We've been having temps around 107* and 115* even!

Gross heat.

BUT...it is soooooooo great to be back together with my husband every night.

It makes such a huge difference.

We went from seeing him 2 days a week when we were living back in SV, to now seeing him every.single.day! And its divine <3

Heres the new digs!

We are almost all unpacked.

A few boxes of random stuff here and there that I am getting to when I can.

Once I get it all done in here, I imagine I'll go room by room for you guys ;)

Its been a bitter sweet experience for me, thats for sure.

But we are very happy here in our new home.

And, we have a 'year round' school district, so the kids go back to school VERY soon, so hopefully, once our summer break is over, I will get back into the groove of blogging!

I hope all of your summers have been so good so far!

The Antelope Fire

The Monument Fire is still going strong.

Today was day 5.

Last I read it has consumed 19,000+ acres.

47 homes confirmed destroyed.

1,700+ homes evacuated.

3 evacuation shelters.

500+ men and women fighting the fire.

ZERO deaths {PTL!!}

A community FULL of generosity and selflessness like I have NEVER seen!

15% containment...

and no end in sight in the near future.

Gut wrenching.

And then, this afternoon around 2pm...

The Antelope Fire arose on Fort Huachuca and many houses were evacuated with no notice.

It was dangerously close to many homes.

It was stared on accident by a bulldozer that was clearing brush and forming a break in the dry dry grass in case the Monument Fire reached that point.
Its my understanding the a spark was made between the bulldozer and a rock...and up it went.

Our land is critically dry right now.

The firefighters responded very quickly and those AMAZING MEN & WOMEN were able to contain and stop that fire before it destroyed any homes.
It consumed 2,000+ acres.

Pray that the All Mighty God will just STOMP these fires out!

My heart is so blessed to see the selflessness in Sierra Vista!!

Arizona On Fire

Arizona is burning in every direction you look.
These fires have DEVASTATED our state.
The Monument Fire broke out Sunday afternoon too close to my town for comfort.
The wind is high and the land is dry and these conditions are causing the flames to spread.
Per reports in our Local newspaper, our community is responding generously to the needs of the people working feverishly, round the clock to get this fire under control. The last I read, it has burned 4,600 acres in the short 2 days that its been burning. Thats a massive amount of land right here in our Huachuca Mountains!

I am setting up a donation drive to gather supplies to benefit our local evacuees { the firefighters are WELL supplied and have more than they need right now{{so I was told at the information meeting tonight}} and also to benefit those affected by the Wallow Fire.

THIS EVENT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO CHANGES IN THE FIRE AND THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE!!! PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN FOR UPDATES!

Operation: Beautify Our World

My last blog post I wrote about wanting to organize a "pick up trash" day.

After some more thought and prayer about this, I have come up with the details.

Its simple.

*Wear a white shirt or tank top*

*Bring your own gloves*

*Bring at least 2 trash bags*

I will have my truck to toss the full trash bags into once we are done.

See? I told you! Simple!

I had originally stated that I was going to bring my kids along and have them clean up the trash with me. But after speaking with my mother about what I wanted to do, she pointed out that it may not be the safest thing for kids to be involved in. You never know what kind of stuff is laying around on the ground that they might pick up. Ive realized that this could be a potentially dangerous thing for children to do. We, as adults, have the discernment as to how to pick up pieces of trash with sharp edges, or that are very filthy, or even to know NOT to touch something...children might just grab anything they see on the ground, without realizing the potential danger. I would hate for a child to get hurt. So, because of this, I do ask that this be a kid free project...at least for this first time, until we can see how it goes. My heart is NOT to offend anybody, but its better to be safe than sorry, right? Its our responsibility to protect our children. I hope this wont be something that keeps you from participating!

I am a dreamer.

I dream of kindness spreading through the world like these wildfires are spreading through our state of Arizona.

I dream of kindness, and helping others, becoming like a contagious disease that infects the hearts of the masses!

I dream of my children growing up in a world where we arent each others enemies, but rather, each others friends.

I dream of people having the desire to give of themselves selflessly, to serve the needs of others.
I believe that this is all possible, but it cant be accomplished alone.
This kind of change in the world must first start as a change in our hearts.

And I believe that that change in our hearts comes from the love of Jesus.

God gifted me with a servants heart.

What does that mean for my life?

I dont yet have an answer for that.

But this is what I know...

I have a deep desire to HELP where help is needed.

I have a deep desire to shine the light of Jesus upon this dark world.

I desire to be involved in causes, and movements that better the world.

So, where do I begin?

Where do WE begin?

HOW can I, me, you...one person, a group of people...HOW can we MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

This is something I have been laying at the feet of Jesus for sometime, as I feel burdened by the need to HELP OTHERS.

Although MY ideas are BIG PICTURE ideas, Jesus whispers His sweet nothings in my heart...

"start small".

I ask Him back, 'what does that mean? WHERE do I start?'

And I hear things like, "smile at strangers...hold the door for the person behind you...use kind words..."

I get impatient and tell Jesus 'I already do those things!'

And then I hear Jesus say, "then do something a little bigger: volunteer your time, pick up trash and help clean up the earth...write a thank you note to someone you are grateful for having in your life..."

THATS IT!

I have been eyeballing this particular corner in my town that I drive by almost daily.

Its littered with trash.

I tell my children almost everytime that we should come out one day and pick up the trash.

I want to instill these things in them as well as myself.

They are all for the idea!

So that is where I will start.

Beautifying the earth...well, beautifying a corner in my community =]

I want to CHALLENGE YOU to do the same.
It doesnt matter where in the world you live, I'm sure there is an area near you that could use some cleaning up.
So pick the spot, pick the day, and go be selfless, go out and give of your self!

And then after church we spent the day at the park.

It was crazy windy, like 50 mph or something like that, but we still had great big fun!

Back in March I took a "me day" and I went to my favorite little town, Bisbee, Arizona.

I had lunch at my favorite restaurant, The Bisbee Grille.

I walked the historic streets,

I talked to the people,

I breathed in all of the art, and culture of the colorful 'hippie town'...

and embraced some alone time!

Just wanted to share a few pictures I snapped while I was there!

This is my FAVORITE staircase! Just look at that detail!

LOVED this statue of George Washington!

And the little pile of vintage books next to it just makes this photo for me!

What I love about this image is the fact that I did nothing to it but sharpen a bit and add a vignette. The light streaming in through the window next to this pitcher and wash basin was so perfectly soft...

Saw this old Bible and had to snap a photo of it...it has so much character.

Makes me wonder who it belonged to, and how Jesus used them for His glory!

It clearly didnt get this way by sitting on a book shelf...this baby was READ through and through!

REPOST!

I posted this way back when but I wanted to repost it now because I have SUCH ADORATION for my husband Chance, and am SOOO grateful for him!

I'm feeling the love tonight for the hub. Not that its unusual for me to feel the hub love, but tonight he is on my mind more than usual so I thought I'd sit and blog about his awesomeness!

After we put the kids to bed a little while ago, we were sitting on the couch together, watching some army movie which was boring to me but thats his kind of movie so thats what was on. He was eating ice cream {his happy place...kinda like me & nachos} which is not on our diet. I told him "are you having ice cream?" He said..."HEY! I used a small bowl!" we shared a minute of the giggles and went onto watching the boring army movie.

I got to looking around the house...admiring my new "office" I have built for myself by splitting the living room in half, and using the empty half as the new dining room, and using the dining room area as my "PHOTOGRAPHY OFFICE". I was noticing the little this's & that's that I have created. 12x12 shadow boxes with scrapped pages that I love, altered coffee tins that are darling...wood letters that I covered with paper spelling out the word HOME, pillows on my couch, 4 massive curtain panels...which, by the way, are DONE!!...my photography equipment, and amazing images I have produced with said equipment...and a thought floated through my mind. I have an AMAZING husband! Why, you ask, did that thought about the amazingness of the hub cross my mind when I was noticing all of my crafts? Well, SIMPLY because, if he wasnt the supportive, encouraging, work~a~holic lover of the LORD that he is, I wouldnt be so blessed to lead the life that I live. I am able to stay at home with my children...something TOO MANY mothers arent able to do. And because I'm able to stay home while my husband goes to work 12 hours a day, I am ABLE to indulge myself in the things that I love!

I LOVE photography...it's not 'what I do'...it's WHO I AM. I am so passionate about it, that I SEE in rectangles! Really! I can be anywhere, and if something catches my eye, I AUTOMATICALLY see it in photograph format! Thats kinda weird...cant believe I just told that to... whoever is reading =]

I always joke and say that my camera is like an appendage. And it is, it's an extension of my arm!

What I love about the fact that I'm a photographer and the hub has a 'thing' for guns, is that we are both shooters!! HaHa...I know, I know...corny =] But it makes my heart flutter to think that we are the same, even though we shoot different weapons, we still have a passion for shooting!

I also LOVE scrapbooking/papercrafting! I spend entirely too much money on scrapbook stuff. I have so much stuff that I literally am running out of space for it all! Anyone have stuff you want to trade? We can have a crop swap at my house one of these weekends. We all bring stuff we have but know that we'll never use and swap it while we crop! FUN! And a reason I am ABLE to plan things like this to happen at my home is because the HUB will take our children and go out of the house for a while so that I can host stuff like this. I dont do it often, but I still think thats pretty amazing of him! Also, by me being able to stay home because of my hard working man, I have TIME to do these things in which I love so dearly.

I am a sewer. I love my sewing machine. I have been able to make so many gifts for people that I love because of my sewing machine. And although I came into this AWESOME relationship already owning the machine and he didnt have to buy it for me, he still supports me in my sewing adventures, offers his opinion when I ask for it, and he video tapes my chonies hanging out of the back of my pants when I am on the floor arranging patterns =] Gotta love him <3

The list of things I am ABLE to do because of my man goes on and on...I'm so thankful for him!

okay, now to get serious...when Chance and I first met, we couldnt have been more opposite. He was 'gangsta' and I was preppy. He was angry at the world, and I have pretty much always been happy at the world. The first night we met, I was so turned off by him and his behavior. But the next day, I couldnt get him off my mind. To this day, I cant tell you what it was about him. We had mutual friends so we saw each other the next day...and then every day after! Chance was working at Discount Tire {still is} and he had a 5 year old daughter Cecilia, & at the time, I was working at Chili's, and my son Brysonn was 2. He would come into Chili's for lunch and when I would see him walk through the doors, or seated at my table {which he always requested} my heart would skip a beat and I would get weak in the knees! Everything happened so fast with us. 2 weeks after we met, he moved in with me. 2 & 1/2 months later, we were engaged. A month later, we were expecting Zac. 5 months later we bought our house together. 4 months later we had Zachary. 7 months later we were married on the beach on Maui, Hawaii. 16 months later we had Kaydenn. There was SOOO much stuff that happened in that time frame. good and bad...at certain points, bad was BAD. But then we let GOD in, and bad got better...better got good...good got great...and great is now AMAZING!

I look at our life together. I see where we are in life now, and I see where we came from. I have seen GOD move mightily in our life, in our marriage. He brought us out of some dark, ugly places...on the verge of divorce, and shone his light so strongly on us that now we bask in the GLORY THAT IS GOD! Although we still have some bumps in the road,and not everything is peaches & cream, we have come leaps and bounds from where & who we were when we first met. I look at our marriage, and believe that when God put the 2 of us together, HE worked a MIRACLE. Thats right people! You dont believe in miracles? Well, you're reading about a real life GOD issued MIRACLE right now! PRAISE JESUS!

The hub LOVES the Lord, he LOVES me, he LOVES our children...in that order, and to say that I'm grateful for Chance, doesnt seem enough. The words thankful & grateful dont even scratch the surface of the depth of gratitude & appreciation I have for this man that GOD created JUST FOR ME.

We understand each other...we GET each other! And there is no greater feeling in the world, than the feeling of being 'gotten'.

I love you Chance...from the depths of my depth!

God is good!

Last night, after the kids were safely tucked into bed, after the house was still, I got quiet before the Lord. Its been a while since Ive had some REALLY GOOD one on one time with Jesus...but last night I felt His presence so strongly, and it was good! I prayed and then I asked Jesus to lead me to a place in the Bible so that I would read what He needs for me to read....for Him to guide me to His words that would penetrate the depths of my heart. And then with eyes closed, and heart lifted up to Jesus I flipped the pages open to 2 Corinthians, the very beginning of the book. So I said "Okay Lord...talk to me!"

The first place my eyes landed was in chapter 16 of 1 Corinthians vs. 13&14:

"Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love."

THANK YOU JESUS!

And then, I read. I read the first 7 chapter of 2 Corinthians, and my highlighters barely got a break!

¹⁶ Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

¹⁷ For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

¹⁸ while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

¹⁴ Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

So Long Insecurity

You've been a bad friend to us!

I started reading this book an entire year ago and loved the first 3 chapters. But then I just, stopped reading. I pulled it out a few weeks ago when I was going through our unending shelves of books {we're readers!} and I set it aside with every intention of making time to sit down and read it. Today, I did. I started over by going through what I have already read and re~reading the highlighted parts {there were alot!}. This book is speaking to me now more than I think it ever would have had I finished reading it last year. The Lord is so faithful about His timing! God has been tugging at my heart trying to get me back to a place where ALL I rely on is HIM. I have been trying to do so much with my own strength. Well, that just never works does it. I'm exhausted. I've been terrified that I have gotten so far away from God that I will soon be unable to hear His voice. And I dont want that. I dont ever want to go back to being the person I was before I came to know the saving love of Jesus. Yes, I've been judged because of my choosing to walk with the Lord, and I have felt persecution-clearly not to the extent that Jesus did, but persecution none the less- [John 15:19~21] [Matthew 5:10]. I want to commit myself to reading His word DAILY. I've been so lacking. I want to honor Jesus in EVERYTHING I do!

Today I stayed home from church because I am not feeling well. And for whatever reason I picked up this book. Insecurity, although I never recognized that what I have been going through might be insecurity, is a bad place to be. I'm done being insecure! I will find my worth is JESUS!

Three parts stood out to me today:

"In your pursuit of God~vested security, the only relationships in your life that will suffer rather than improve are the significantly unhealthy ones. I'll go one step further. Those that are the unhealthiest might not even survive at all- and maybe they shouldn't."

CAN I GET AN AMEN?!

"You are not the only one to blame, but girlfriend, you are the only one you can change. God is willing. God is able. Let Him get to that terrified part of you that devalues the rest of you."

YES!!!

"Not only will insecurity cheat us of reaching and then operating consistently at maximum potential, it also will turn our coworkers into threats and trap us into becoming posers. It will also chase us to church, where we'll be so distracted by who we know or dont know, where we sit or dont sit, what brand we are or arent wearing, that we probably wont hear three words of the message."

{one} do you watch the history channel? if so, what’s your favorite program?We dont have extended cable anymore but when we did the history channel is all Chance watched. History buff!! Together we we loved American Pickers and Pawn Stars.

{two} what is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?Sit out side and smell it!! Theres nothing like the smell of the wet desert! Ahhhh I cant wait for the Arizona monsoons...best time of the year EVER!

{three} what does your dream house look like?It looks like a house we can all fit in and a house we can afford! And newer that 1995 {our house now was built in the 70's! Yuck.}
{four} what state were you born in?I was born abroad ...Stuttgart Germany.

{five} do you have a change jar? if so, what do you use it for when it gets full?We have a change drawer. When it gets full we roll the coins and save em.

i havent done any laundry for a week!

my couch has 3 loads of clean laundry on it that has been sitting there waiting to be put away.

so my day will be filled with a whole lotta folding and hanging.

not to mention the 6+ loads waiting for me on the floor in my room.

its my own fault.

i did this to myself.

look at that, yet another clean load pouring out f the dryer.

ugh.

i better get to it!

husband was off yesterday so we did a TON of yard work.

plus a trip to the dump.

he is off again today *joy!!*

so he is already at the dump unloading all the kids *little kid* toys.

all broken down.

so sad!

and a bunch of other junk from the backyard.

feels good to get rid of stuff!

he still has another pile to load up and take to the dump today.

good thing he has a little helper!

and of course our dog Angel ( husbands girlfriend!) has to go where ever husband goes =]

I know I didnt even last one week away, but lets face it...I'm weak!

Im going through some heavy stuff in my personal life right now,

I have ALOT going on in my life right now.

My relationship with the Lord is lacking,

and that IS NOT OKAY!

I need to walk away.

Im grateful for our time together!

Maybe in a month or 2 when things settle down, Ill be back.

I spent the better part of Thursday night reading through my blog...from the beginning.

I was interested to discover that when I first started blogging I actually WROTE.

I wrote about GOD.

I wrote about my family.

I wrote about things that interested me and I took great pleasure in it.

I enjoyed so much reading what I had written back then, and how I wrote it.

And then I got to a point in my blog archives where I noticed things started changing.

I noticed that I was no longer WRITING because it was pleasurable to MYSELF,

but because I was trying to get followers.

Somehow, blogging became more of a form of competition for me and really,

it had taken the joy out of it.

Right now, I rarely post blogs anymore, and when I do they are generic and bland.

They are NOT ME.

There is nothing BLAND about Ambrosia!

So, my pledge to you...

all you faithful readers that have stuck around and hung with me through this dry season,

is that from here on out,

I WILL BLOG TRUE TO WHO I AM!

I'll turn this blog around, and bring it back to what I wanted it to be in the first place.

Blogging will no longer be about how many followers I have...

it really doesnt matter.

{although Im grateful for the ones I do have ♡}

Blogging for me will go back to chronicling my life...

All the sweet moments that are flying right on by.

Ill blog to remember...

It may be often, it may be sporadic...

Unbelievable.

Im sick.

Again.

Ive been sleeping for what feels like 2 days straight.

Waking up here and there for dropping off/picking up kids from school and

Feeding/ bathing/ homework/ laundry {school uniforms}.

Ugh.

Whats worse is the husband has been gone all week long.

Its true what they say.

Moms just cannot get sick!

We have a fun weekend planned so Im hoping to feel better by tomorrow.

Im soooo over it.

Praying that all of you lovelies have a beautiful weekend!

As you guys know my birthday just passed.

{thanks for all the sweet birthday wishes! You guys ROCK!}

Well, I saw my mother yesterday and she gave me a birthday card

with the sweetest sentiment inside that I really wanted to share with you guys...

I had no idea that she felt this way about me,

{we have had a rough few years with each other

and are trying desperately to get back on track!}

It blessed my heart ♡

Black Swirly Stuff

You know what I'm talking about right?

We've all seen it...

heck, we probably all have it in our homes somewhere!

I know I went crazy with it at one point!

Dont get me wrong, I think its very nice and I love the look of the swirls...

but Im over the black!

Anybody know what Im talking about?

So, I started with these lovely candle holders...

I'll just bet that PLENTY OF YOU have the exact same 3 piece set!

I was gonna just go with white

{and I still might end up doing it after all}

but I picked up this can of spray paint.

I was hoping for more of a teal color but all walmart had was this blue

and I had all 3 sons in tow so I wasnt about to go all over the place

tracking down the perfect color.

Its a nice enough color...but I dont know HOW MUCH I love it, ya hear me?

Well here...what do YOU think?

They are definitely brighter now.

And I do love that, but Im thinking that since I had teal in my minds eye from the start,

I just cant shake the idea now.

And I have them sitting on my shelf and Im thinking they are TOO blue...

Thats the beauty of paint though huh...you can always repaint it!

I have already felt the birthday love on FB with so many amazing birthday wishes from my sweet friends and family...I am just so blessed! Right now I'm drinking a great big cup a joe, and I just ate a giant M&M cookie for breakfast! Yep! That just happened! Today will be a great day even though my husband is gone and I have my oldest son home 'sick' from school...its okay. Cause God is good all the time and all the time God is good! I feel the blessings and prayers on my life today from those that love me and I am so thankful for all that God has given me!

And in 11 days there will be more birthday fun in my neck of the woods cause Kelly from The Clark Clan will be turning 29! She is such a copy cat ;]

I love this girl!!!!!!!

Double Work Station

I found this image in Pinterest {my newest obsession! }

and I immediately fell in love with it!

The beauty of this double work station is that I just happen to have

2 tall and some what thin book cases that are raw wood.

Which means I can put them back to back,

and paint them any color under the sun {or stain them}

with minimal effort {like sanding!}

...and that makes me extremely HAPPY!

One side will be mine with my Mac desktop and all my little treasures...

the other side will belong to the boss with the Macbook and his nonsense ;]

I have already chosen color themes to work with and am excited to get this project rollin'!

Im thinkin' it will make a nice summa' summa' time DIY project!

Seriously though, isnt this so creative?

I just saw Martina in concert at Country Thunder.

Homegirl has a serious set of pipes!

One song stuck out to me more than the rest...

I have certainly heard this song before.

I know all the words.

But there was *something* about hearing it sung live that touched the depth of my depths.

And then when i watched the video for this song...

well, thats what really put me over the edge!

So....here it is...

I know I am!

I cant wait to show you my picture for this challenge! It took a few tries and my bubble gum bubble is sad but I tried and tried to get the perfect shot and I was about DONE blowing bubbles by the time I got to this shot! Oh well!

Here it is!

My only gripe about this picture is that I wish the burlap that Im laying on was flat and not wrinkled. But when you are running back and forth dodging scrabble letters and chairs and tripods all while focusing the camera, blowing bubbles and ditching glasses on the way to the pose cause you didnt put in your contacts, in the allotted 10 seconds you are given to shoot a self portrait, well, straightening out the fabric beneath me was the last thing on my mind ;] But otherwise...I LOVE IT!!! I cant wait to see YOURS!
